I wonder along the beaten path
Trying to clear my mind
A flower lingers by itelf
Strown to isolation by wind unkind
I stoop to pick up the tender blossom
Somehow to it I feel akin
Both alone in this harsh world
Solitary in our chagrin
I decide to let my feelings go
As I pluck the petals from the stem
With each one that flys into the breeze
My sentiments begin to even out toward him
I pull the first one softly
It takes off wild and free
I see that just like the petal blowing
I will go wherever nature takes me
The second one floats gently to the ground
But it is picked up by the draft again
I then know that even when I fall
I will rise and freshly begin
The third and final petal
With me I decide to keep
For now I know that somewhere in the world
For me a heart does beat
Author notes
Well it is pretty obvious which one I choose so I hope you enjoyed it
Please tell me what you think

This is great. I love the way you wrote this. You laid your feelings on the line, really put them all out there. You did a fantastic job. I love the image you present throughout this poem.
