~~ Forest Flowers~~

Missing image
Forest flowers there are - showers of them
In leafy crown and emerald diadem,
All tropical blossoms, flowering now
In shady grove, and mist-enfolded bough~

Pink cassias washed in morning dews,
Lotuses and marigolds in various hues
Jasmines, those moon-pale silver stars in bloom,
Flamboyant, that dispels the forest gloom~

Facing the east a million sunflowers,
Pride of the dawn,these  saffron forest showers
A breeze creeps softly through the spreading woods
Lulling the dew - drenched leaflets, flowers and buds~

Here with fragile petals of purity,
Blooms lilies of Madonna Chasity;
Scattered with petals lie the forest trail
Of blossom faded and frail~

Nature's fairest gifts alas how soon,
Your lives,which shed a glory like the moon
Will end, Alas! Tomorrow you will die;
On highest boughs now,
Next strewn on pathways lie~

    A flowers breath is short lived perfume,
    a joy that is taken all to soon.
    A blessing of color,
    a rainbow in bloom.
    Love in color from
    Mother Natures womb......Laura

    You know so much about flowers! I wish I had the time and energy to plant flowers in my yard. Until I do, your beautiful, descriptive poems will more than suffice (and your lovely pictures, too).

    Luv Ya!

    Gorgeous! As they too perish with age, their energy returns to the soil to be the food for the next of theirs in kind. So the cycle continue and the sights, sounds and smells reborn. -tj-

    Wow...so realistic I thought I was gonna start sneezing! :-) But you forgot my favorite, where are the Stargazer lilies? Next time I walk through your flower garden young lady, I expect to see some! :-)

    Vibrant images, well crafted descriptions, a superb piece of work!

    What a vision of loveliness, you have expressed it well. I especially like the description that you use in the following lines:
    Pink cassias washed in morning dews,
    Lotuses and marigolds in various hues
    Jasmines, those moon-pale silver stars in bloom,
    Flamboyant, that dispels the forest gloom~
    Here with fragile petals of purity,
    Blooms lilies of Madonna Chasity;
    Scattered with petals lie the forest trail
    Of blossom faded and frail~
    This is just simply lovely. You have a winner here. Melody

    This was beautiful. Plant me there between the marigold, and Jasmine, and let me drift to dream. For the fragrance shall be my pillow, and the wind my lullaby:)

    Mmmm, I want to be there! It sounds so much better than this cold, grey winter's day. I've gotta agree with Romhain, the word diadem definately has a poetic ring to it. Kudos for working it in there, :).

    Thanks for your comment on Dead Yesterday, it's one of my more depressing writes, which is saying something considering angst seems to be my ink. lol.

    Keep writing, this was beautiful.

    Oh I feel such peacefulness when I read your nature writes.

    Here with fragile petals of purity,
    Blooms lilies of Madonna Chasity;
    Scattered with petals lie the forest trail
    Of blossom faded and frail~

    Nature's fairest gifts alas how soon,
    Your lives,which shed a glory like the moon
    Will end, Alas! Tomorrow you will die;

    Your ending lines are simply exquisite. Haven't seen you around lately so I thought I would check your new writes.

    Wow! is about all I can say. It was... perfect. The only thing that I would change about this poem is that you use "alas" twice in the same stanza, but it's an unnecessary detail. Thank you!! Great...

    Very vivid, it reminded me of a mountain valley I once came across after a long hike, which was swept with all kinds of summer wildflowers. .. A nice peaceful write is this.

    Extremely beautiful, Susan You paint the vision so well with your words I can almost smell their bouquet...and the message is clear. Beauty is temporary and all too soon gone...so gather those rosebuds...

    ...and I apologize for UtopianCollapse calling you a lush

    Beautiful! Flowers are true blessings and they die and pass to soon. You have painted a beatiful picture here.
    I enjoyed the read. I needed something sweet and uplifting and this was just the right medicine. Not too much and not too little. Just a sweet fragrance of flowers all around.

    Hun this is really beautiful as always. It paints a picture with such precision, like the sound of classical music drifting through an open window on a breezy spring day. I truly love this piece.
