She started on life’s journey
full of hope of what might be.
Her fragile heart lay open
for all the world to see.
She shared her dreams with everyone.
Her trust she placed in few,
and when that trust was broken,
to the shadows she withdrew.
Her thoughts now sadly linger
with fond memories in the past.
Someone she loved so dearly,
when that magic spell was cast.
Will I ever love another?
she asks herself each day.
Or will my heart stay broken?
Dreams lost along the way.
We cannot feel her heartache,
but must try to understand.
Surround her with our friendship,
and gently hold her hand.
