Awake and the night he did survive

As he looks in the mirror

His hair turning gray

His thoughts get clearer

It’s A Great Day to Be Alive

The years fly by much faster now

Maturity is advancing

It’s A Great Day to Be Alive

Showing signs of ageing

There are wrinkles on his brow

He smiles as this day did finally arrive

Today is his birthday

It’s time to celebrate

In a very special way

We should celebrate the meaning of a birthday. The fact that we have survived another year. For survival in and of itself is our reward for going on.
