Holding on to Life With Both Hands

Striving to make these words true,
until my time on this earth is through.

Living my life regret free.
No coulda. shoulda, wouldas heard from me.

Squeezing every drop out of my day.
Saying everything that I need to say.

Showing love to all.
Never making any one feel small.

All of my heart I always share.
Every one should know that I care.

Being completely alive.
In every situation I do thrive.

When I have lived till I am old and grey,
and even upon my very last day.

So that when I die my last thought will be:
If I would have known it was my last breath,
I would have held it in a bit longer.

    hahaha, I got you !
you say that there are "No coulda. shoulda, wouldas heard from me." ... and here they are, sneaking in right in the last two lines ! the mind is a smart thief, isn't it ?
well, jokes aside, this is a delightful poem and I thank you for your participation in this contest ... your words are heartfelt and your intentions sound very sweet ... I enjoyed the simplicity of your words and message very much ...
    all the best,

    maa

Oh this is a very good poem.

Well thought out, great rhyming. Reads easily and flows smoothly from word to word.

    Great topic.
"No coulda. shoulda, wouldas heard from me." Oh how I wish I could say the same!

      Thank you

This write is a tad bit simplistic and I pondered over editing it to death, but then I got to thinking that people tend to complicate life too much and that these words would be better suited as simply said.
I appreciate the encouragement that I made a good choice.
