~Treasures~

There are many treasures that live
within simplicity,
That Gold or Money could never buy,
That makes us toss our cares away
and live within a sunny day,
From Dawn to Dusk from mountains
high,
Dazzling beauty for weary eyes,
To Springtime's call of beautiful green,
and shrilling songs of little birds,
To Summer day's of time well spent
wrapped within friendships gift,
To Fall filled days of golden hue
sent from God for me and you,
To Winter day's of purest  white
giving us such delight,
Living within these simplicity's
takes away from scorn filled day's,
And leaves me blessed in many ways.

Author notes

I am not sure if this is what you were looking for because I went back and read the contest, As I looked outside this morning it was a mixture of the seasons change, winter-into spring, and for just a little while I was caught up in the beauty of it all. Thus the poem..

How beautiful this is, we oft look beyond the simplest things when life gets hard, in reality we should get back to the simple. Beautiful images here.

There is a moment, every now and then, when we see the way it comes together, inter-relates and we are not viewing futures but simply seeing how it fits. I get this feeling from this poem. A sudden "Groking" (to use Heinleins term) a consciousness that opens you to the world, nature and how the constructs of man do not prevent the world from flowing. Love, Tom B.

Lovely capturing of the beauty in each season. I love the transitioning from one to another, an eloquence that only Mother Nature can pull off. It's wonderful to just sit back and watch the blessings unfold in front of us. Wonderful work!

Your poem is amazing. I look at it and see such breathtaking imagery. It is so easy to invision everything your poem has to offer. I dare not point out one or two lines that stand out because that would take away from the beauty of your entire poem.

    Very nice

I enjoyed this read. It makes one's heart smile. People tend to forget we are born with nothing and die with nothing. In between they gather as many somethings as they can get their hands on, when the greatest treasures in life are what can be seen with the eyes and felt with the heart. Thanks for submitting this and giving us the oportunity to read it.

Very nice poem. Sometimes we (me) get caught up in society that tells us everything good in life comes with a price tag. But you've just described the best things in life and they're free!

Your work reads so easily, moves smoothly from word to word.

    Great imagery!

"Fall filled days of golden hue
sent from God for me and you"

My favorite line. Thanks for a wonderful poem.
