We Are Not Alone.

      We are not alone.
    We are visited.
      We are not alone.
    We are hunted.

We stand and fall on this eminent earth.
Where life reaches out beneath every stone.
Still some have the audacity to say,
    We are alone.
We are one of a sextillion stars.
Still some believe, life is only ours.

    We are not alone.

We are not alone.

    Help me out here..

Do you have a fascination w/ the unknown? You know, aliens, sci fi, stuff like that. I'm not too fond of this one, but I will check out some of your other work. You seem to be very interesting and optimistic.

    Great indeed

Whether you mean this in the sense of the universe being so vast that we can't be the only ones or that every living entity has a spirit or perhaps that entheogens such as psilocybin are from outer space via meteorites-in any sense-i love this poem! People who think that life is only theirs will hopefully wake up soon.

Not much way of proving the contention one way or another. On a map where it is one inch from the earth to the sun, it is about four miles to the nearest star Proxima Centauri, part of the Alpha Centauri system.
Flying at escape velocity, it would take 153 days to fly the inch... imagine how long it would take to go four miles, let alone 30 or 40 miles to where the bulk of the stars in our immediate neighborhood reside.

    This is very cool.
And points out very well the arrogance and ignorance of so many. This goes beyond the old 50's films of..take me to your leader..and little green men, in this day of cameras and almost indisputable evidence...which I never needed any way...[I think so I am..]. I have recently seen an a religious picture.. thousands of years old of the Blessed Mother holding Jesus with a flying craft which hovered over them in the background. Very mind blowing.
As usual your thoughts have provoked me to ramble.
Your writing on this site has always been treasured by me, so remember ...there are many like minded souls like us, and it's good to know ...We Are Not Alone...

    MANY, MANY, BLESSINGS GYPSY.

I agree, i have always thought it was very arrogant of humans to believe we could be the only life in the universe. I like this background too

Ok... now you're really cool. Do you think stars have a buddy system... what about planets? Earth could really use one.

I love this and your backrounds really add a lot to the atmosphere of the piece. Your poetry is thought provoking and wonderful. The way you write is just brilliant.

This is enchanting! You're powerful lines are simple, yet cut very deep and you believe your convictions to be true. =]

The double lines at the end were really nice. =] And the line,

"We are one of a sextillion stars." I don't like that line because its profound, but because it makes you think and then finally realize - 'Hey - we are just one star among the infinite.'

Thank you for reviewing my poem.

    i completely agree!!!
i don't understand how people can just assume that just because we've never officially seen any living things beyond our planet, that we are alone. we have only seen a small fraction of the space that could be inhabited!
good poem by the way! =P

thanks for the comment!! by the way, we have officially seen stuff, but most countries keep it secret. Recently the Australasian media reported something ufo related despite its governments stance of top secrecy.
      Keep your eyes open!!

    The Truth Be told

You are absolutely right about we not being alone... very well said with your words you've penned... little poetry with few lines capturing the wide universe, it's a talent that definitely speaks for itself... One day I'd love to meet an alien though *imagining*... oh well until then I'll enjoy every being on this earth creator has created... Thanks for sharing your talent... take care Minoo

    Very nicely done.

I myself believe that we aren't alone. I think people think much to rationally. I myself am also believe in God, and people say you can't do both. I don't see why not. If God made us, why do we think that God made nothing else. If you don't think with a closed mind it's amazing what you find. It just makes my belief stronger.
Man is just man, no more, no less, and to imply that we are all there is makes us God. We think to highly of ourselves. Connie

you know, after many years of thought and many years of reading and listening to other people and from just watching what goes on, i too believe that we are not alone. i mean, look at all the millions of systems out there and then think about the "paralell" universe thing. i'm sure you too realize that when something is happening here, it is happening in other places too but in the parallels, it is having a different outcome. kind of scary when you think about it but i believe it happens.

your mind runs deep, you are very wise for your age. i don't know what else to say except for don't let anybody try to change your views, keep on being you

    be well and be blessed

I wanted it to be really in your face. Like the idea was always meant to overshadow the poem..so I guess its a good thing from my perspective that you though the background was too big. Anywho thanks for taking the time.

The background for this piece is awesome, and fits the poem quite nicely. It may be short, but is says everything that needs to be said. Well done. --->pixxie<---

Thanks for the feedback on "The Icy Path", I'm glad you liked it! I think your poem is really interesting. Although I'm not as confident as you are that life from other planets has made contact with us, I definitely agree that it exists out there. Kudos for the awesome work.
