Valentine's Day

It's Valentine's Day again,
And I'm back to hold you,
Once more.

I've missed you darling,
I can't believe I missed this day,
For a year before today.

I left you alone,
Last Valentine's Day.
My heart was weak,
And I couldn't bare to stay.

You are just how I remember you,
You haven't aged a day. 
How perfect you are,
Pristine in every way.

I want to let you know I'm sorry,
But there's nothing here to say.

I watch you walk down the hall,
Tears in your eyes,
As your fingers trail the wall
You're broken hearted,
And I die inside knowing I'm the cause of it all.

You enter your bedroom,
And kneel before your nightstand.

In horror I watch,
As you pull a gun from the box,
And your finger twitches on the trigger,
You hesitate,
"Don't pull it"
I say. 

Don't do this to me,
You don't want to die today.

With tears in your voice,
You try to say,
"This is my gift to you, this Valentine's Day"
And with one small movement of your finger...
