This is a painted bunting, the most beautiful bird on the list of birds I have seen. I saw it on a remote island off the Gulf of Mexico. I sat and listened to it sing for about 10 minutes. Beautiful!!

who could ever imagine that so few words could paint such a magical hymn, as your poem did! ... and my favorite is the mockingbird who can go on for hours and hours with his melodies! and how love those "remote" islands off the coast as well and there aren't many left! I wonder which one you speak of? joy
