You Label Me As...

Every time you look at me,
You judge me by what you see.

You see the Converse shoes,
And the black fingernail polish,
And label me as "punk".

You see the paint on my jeans,
And out of season hair-style,
And label me as "unfashionable".

You see the broken nails,
And the lack of make-up,
And label me as a "ugly".

You see the black framed glasses,
And the notebook I carry,
And label me as a "nerd".

But I have something to tell you,
You can label me as "punk",
You can label me as "unfashionable",
You can label me as "ugly",
And you can label me as a "nerd",
But I have something you never will,
I have a style that's all my own.

Author notes

So this is about me and how I'm different then most people, because I don't care what they think. I am who I am and if you have a problem with that then I'm sorry.

Nice! Great job showing me your personality. It's nice to meet some ppl who actually stand up for themselves and keep their individuality intact.

Tell it like it is. ^^ Congrats for self confidence, and saying, "forget your stupid labels". I totally agree. Great job.

This is a topic very open for people to relate to ... I love the way you have made this so open by using conversational language and how the ending is so positive and uplifting. Thankyou for your entry

    Good luck

First line of the second stanza - 'shoes' doesn't need an apostrophe ...
