On this hoary land he lays
Hat on his bare skull
Vesture around his white ribs
And all over with natural tearing
For old age
His guns, boots and bags remain
Not surrendered
He recalls yet his western tongue
Where he lies with a sable look
And his dreams --dusk, dawn and sunny
The dreams had long left his bones
Which were not obdurate enough for his trip
His dreams had gone on lands
Around the hoary land
Seizing nine of the hoes
Of ten-ten men
Rendering them ladder and ink to link
To leak their sunny senses
And drain their sable suns
To flash the secret sun Maker
His roaming dreams-back in his home
Adorned, robust and panting
Chanting ,rumbling ,and telling
About the lands and the men's senses
"Crude,fresh,and rich" they claim
"But know and see but less"
Gleeful,seeming sorry and frantic
They are about the years around
On the oceans and around the hoary land.
