You wounded me
truths coming into light
nipping at my insecurities
Testing my patience
playing games of cat and mouse
Self examination coming into play
searching inside to see what pieces fit,
aligning my heart to find balance with my mind
Trying not to get lost in what I want
to fit the mold of what I need
Words being flung about
I gather them up, process,
then digest
Finding some hard to swallow
others sliding down easy
lubricated with trust
I brace myself and decide to
move forward and go with the flow

Yes at times, that is the best course, go with the flow. Just be sure the flow is in the right direction, and not down the gutter, like so much rain water.

I see so much in this that makes me wonder...I wonder about cat and mouse games, truths, or half truths that cause damage to the heart & soul. Why? I believe in speaking the truth, yet sometimes the truth contains a stinging slap in the face. Those we trust most are often the ones that hurt us the most...even if it's not intentionally.
Go with the flow...those words mean more to me now than they used to, because I've had to learn to go with it myself. It was a hard lesson to learn, for me, but it's one that I hope I can continue to do. Trying to move against the current just wears you out...
Nice write that brought several thoughts to my mind.
