Thirteen To Go

Disaster unfolds in a small little school.
Out in the middle of nowhere,
One little kid, alone and lost,
Wanders into the school.
Dirt everywhere, from head to toe,
Small cuts on his face and clothes.
He looks into countless numbers of classrooms, all empty.
The whole school was silent, they knew he was there.
He wanders around until he finds the gym.
Everyone's in here, he realizes as he walks in.
The other children are huddled together, the teachers there with them.
They all shrink back as he looks around.
A muffled scream erupts as he takes a step forward.
Everyone watches as he holds up his hand, palm up.
Slowly a light emerges from his palm, growing bright.
The children and teachers frozen in fear.
As the light grows brighter, his face grows darker,
A wicked smile emerging.
In a blinding flash, everything is gone.
The little boy stands at the edge of a crater.
Slowly he turns to walk away.
"Thirteen to go.." He murmers in a small voice.
