Tears Run Down My Solemn Cheeks

I am alone in many ways
You are no longer there beside me
I can no longer feel your touch
And as I think of this
Tears run down my solemn cheeks

They fill the hole in my heart
That is now an ocean
Salty, my sacrifices for you

Each tear a memory
Of the good and the bad times
When you were there to comfort me
Or when it was you I comforted

The tough times are just beginning
And I know more tears are to come
And as each tear runs down my solemn cheeks
I will think of you

Author notes

Let's just say I cried really hard writing this poem, which is actually unusual for me.

I can really relate to the first stanza, you use the words just right! This is a good piece with a lot of emotions. "They fill the hole in my heart
That is now an ocean" Loved those lines!

Wow! You have no idea how much this poem just touched me.I could completely empathise with the feeling of the poet.
It touched my heart and made me remember about my exboyfriend whom I was madly in love with.
But to cry is a good thing...it's not mean we are insane. But crying relieves stress, reduces hormone and chemical levels in the body, and helps us return to a calm state.

    Good luck in my contest!
