They say it's never been better,
The nation's doing great,
But all i see is corruption,
In this so called brilliant state,
They say that crime is down at last,
Though the prisons are overflowing,
Tony Blair keeps saying he's off,
But there's no sign of him going,
They say health care's at it's very best,
And waiting lists are down,
Do they think the year i've been off ill,
I've been acting like a clown ?
They say the national minimum wage,
Is good enough for all,
I beg them please to try it,
As i'm sure they'd have a ball !
They say our soldiers are doing well,
And we're winning at this war,
But all i see is body bags,
What's it really for ?
They say Britain's at it's greatest,
And voting Labour we'll all do well,
I urge you please to change your vote,
Cause we're going straight to hell......

although i am not wishing to air my political views i did enjoy this write and it made me smile, the minimum wage has recently gone up so that it is possible for some people to eat most days

Ah but Kenny all the politicians world over are the same as it was explained to me... they are bananas all start off green and straight but very soon end up yellow and bent. I believe the world may be better off if the term of office was not as long and if they had to prove their worth and not get as big as salaries and were performance tested at the end of their term in office. this way they would have to be accountable well more so to the people...Very well put no matter who you vote for they need to change on a regular bases 'to keep the bastards honest' as the one party here had as the banner cry but they fell by the wayside too....
but i dont think the politicians miss out on too many thingsYou keep that pen working with your style and talented grace

Well said my friend! Seems there must be canned lies that all governments use. I wish we 'the little people' could get together and make these fools in office either honour their oaths to us, or remove them and put somebody in that has 'our' interests at heart. If we paid these f**kers at the end of their term by performance, instead of a regular salary, maybe they would take us more seriously! Great write.
