I asked you not to leave me
I asked you not to go
I asked you not to walk away
you simply told me no.
You stared at me with eyes of fury
I wanted to pull you close
I knew what was happening all too much
I knew the path you chose.
I didn't know how to stop it
I wanted to keep you safe
I reached out for your hand
but it was far too late.
The bullet went straight through you
You never said a word
and while you were bleeding on the ground
your silence could still be heard.
I fell down beside you but couldn't cry
I took the gun away
we buried you deep into the ground
and you went to Heaven that day.
I prayed for God to protect you
because you were my teddy bear
nothing bad could ever happen
again to you, up there.
Tonight I sit here, deep in thought
I can hear you whisper in my ear
and even though you're so far away
you're still so very near

oh Pam and thank you for such a touching piece. I cannot expres in words how this helps. You not only verse comfort within this write, but you capture the essence of the tortured ones soul and his sorrow for letting his family down, plus how family cannot know how to help a troubled soul, and in the end a memory lives forever. We all pray for the ones that we love and cherish so much we wan't to protect there needs and love them with all our heart has to offer we accept their faults and we love them so , its so hard t osee them go we wonder why and we cry but will never know , its so hard for us but we know that one day we will see them in heaven once again and will never let them go
