Tree of Knowledge

If you had to choose one moment that brought you to where you are today what would it be and what might have happened if that moment never happened?

I remember when I was little. It was Elementary school. When children are still innocent and have not yet eaten the fruit of knowledge. I knew not of my sins, of good and evil. I had no thoughts of sex, and of drugs. Although I had many thoughts of violence. I was a savage as most children are.
There was one girl who was on the opposite end of my hatred. She was who I directed most of my growing emotions of hatred toward. There was no real reason for me to dislike her besides the fact that she existed. Nobody liked her. 
I was a popular girl at that point. Not in the way that everybody liked me. Few people did. In the way that people wanted to be me. I was not the leader of my little group of friends, my tribe, but I was a close second. We would wander the playground and be the little terrorists that we were. Tormenting the boys and the smaller children. Especially that one girl. Ashley.
I have always remembered the worst of what I did. My friends and I were walking to the bus, and Ashley was in front of us. The leader of the tribe, Carli, was spitting on her jacket while she unknowingly continued walking.
