With shaking limbs she wonders on
Sweat pooling around her forehead
The dark is getting in, the monsters awake
But still she plods on forth.
Facing your demons is the hardest thing
That anyone can ask you to do
Opening the door to the past
Letting all the hurt pour out.
The crowds of people scare her
She trembles as she walks
Her eyes firmly focused on the ground
Her heart beating a tattoo.
She think’s she’s failed,
Thinks she’s weak
But she doesn’t understand
Why can’t I make her see?
Courage isn’t how you feel
When you face the daunting task
Courage is that through your fears
You carry on regardless.
Author notes
based on a line I found in finding serenitys comment to another poet!
"Courage isn't how you feel when you do something, it's the fact that you do it"
Please tell me what you think

I'm so glad I could be an inspiration. And thank you for the credit in your author note, I appreciate it. I like the way you phrased the last stanza.
