keepsakes and opals to carry

precious.

rare,
in our own
colors.

a gold, a treasure-
anothers' to toss.

what becomes omnipotent
to ourselves.

holding.

what takes us.
what brings us.

our faith in such things.

a freehand of the mind
neither grasped,

nor denied.

but for what we'd
cherish most.

memories.

    you've been hoodwinked!

memories are what make us we, we have no future less memories of the past, and without us memories would cease to be thus we need each other, not want, need.

Great ending - was not sure where it was going to go - the ending however was excellent, like the sparse lines, simple words and layout - alla dded up to an unusual piece, and one you could feel, has a something this one.

I can't really suggest any changes, I thought this was good - I would have tried it without the spacing just to see how it read - can't say though it would improve the poem.

    An excellent write.

    amazing!

wow! I loved this piece. it really was a pleasure to read. I liked the choice of words and the way you laid out this poem! great job!
This was probably my favorite line:

    "a freehand of the mind
    neither grasped,
    nor denied."

I'm not sure why, it just stuck out to me.

    keep writing!

A pleasure to read the philosophy within this piece, presented as left align enhanced it and the spacing spaced it so that it was delivered slowly and digested but perhaps the spacing could have been less,I found the length inbetween the stanzas was interrupted as freeflowing by the the thought and anticipation of oh where is the next line, that is not a criticism,I may indeed be the only one with that observation my friend, but I liked this very much and indeed,to leave a wonderful memory is a gift.Well done
