Life is just a moment in time.
A tiny star in a huge, endless galaxy.
One small bubble, bursting on the surface of the water
only to be replaced by a thousand others.
As you breathe in, so you breathe out.
And there, that’s the moment gone.
Did you enjoy that moment
or were you already racing to see
what is around the next corner?
Missing all the beauty that is passing you by.
Can you be so certain that each leaf that
crumbles in the Autumn
will surely be replaced in the Spring?
Relax in today. Don't rush forward to tomorrow.
Moments are just that - moments.

Very True
We don't need to be winners in life's race, nrither do we want to be just an onlooker. You are so right. We do need to enjoy each and every passing moment, Ros

very thought provoking...
...well written poetry with a lot to think about. You have asked poignant questions.
I love the way the poem skips a beat as you ask, "Did you enjoy that moment?" My thoughts stopped and I consciously thought, "Well, did I?"
It is a good poem that engenders that sort of reaction.
I felt as though I was part of it.

I agree we all seem to rush through life trying to get to a finish line and forget to see the beauty in the little things around us. Wonderful write thanks for sharing so full of hope. Good luck in the contest

What wise words. Far too many are in the race of life, so afraid that they will not accomplish everything that is out there. And so what if we don't. I know I would rather have the moment of memories of something beautiful than to not remember a thing and try to fit it all in. Life was not meant to be about everything that exists, but rather fulfilled with the beauty that we each see. Don't take it for granted, it's deeper than most know. Love the write. Thank you for entering and good luck. Storm

Thanks
This was very nice. Moments are moments. Thanks for sharing. -
I really like the message – so many people look for the arrival rather than enjoy the journey, which is a shame – but if you grow a plant from seed you can’t help looking forward to the first flower… fruition. Like all things in life it is a minimum of two mutually exclusive variants – and usually many, many more¡!
I know you probably know the galaxy isn’t endless… not even the cosmos is endless, (mind if you intend to visit every interesting place it will probably seem so.) but it just jarred a little as I read it – mind I suppose if you can’t fit it all into one life time, it is to all tense and porpoises, endless – so…

I very much enjoyed this; we should all take a moment in time to just live...stop, look, listen, and just live
I love the thought process in this piece
Thank you for sharing and for being a part of the contest -
so true. I don't even know what to say, it's just a really beautiful piece

so very true. each moment fleeting. we keep missing the moments when we're looking to see what's next.
'One small bubble,
bursting on the surface of the water.'
i love those two lines. they create some beautiful imagery that describes just how truly small, but influential, each moment truly is.
i enjoyed reading this. good luck in that contest!

I bow down to the deepness of your thoughts, dear poet!
I thought of this so many times, I think I forgot to live the life I'm thinking about...it's brilliant!
Here are my favourite parts:
"One small bubble,
bursting on the surface of the water.
Only to be replaced by a thousand others."
I think this was a metaphor to represent how, when a life ends, a thousand others begin. The concept is fantastic!
"As you breathe in, so you breathe out.
And there, that’s the moment gone."
I was left speechless when I read this part...
"Did you enjoy that moment.
Or were you already racing to see
what is around the next corner."
Rush, rush, rush. That's what life is all about! And as you read, a lot of us miss what's around the next corner!
Only a suggestion: after "Did you enjoy that moment" there should be a question mark(?), not a fullstop(.).
Besides that, it's all great. You did magic with your pen!
Thank you for entering, and good luck in the contest!

I like this. I especially like the lines "Can you be so certain that each leaf that
crumbles in the Autumn,
will surely be replaced in the Spring." Nice job with this poem. I agree that we should all slow down and enjoy life before it passes us by.
Thank you for entering my contest. -
