Listen!

when I open my heart,
               this is what I hear...

fingers tapping
on glass,

Morse code messages,
that cypher tones
                  of emotional greed

(and)

footfalls in the dark -
dancers thumping
with "Look At Me", rat-a-tat need -

- individuals asserting

they           ...          Exist!

(but)

sonic booms don't echo in thin air,
            and the myth is drowned-out
by the notes that carry ...

heard by those
who care to

listen

Loved this! Yes...we often are moving faster than the sound of speed and care not to simply listen. When the heart is open and exposed do we truly hear that voice that speaks so clearly? Do we give ourselves that half second to even consider others. Do we take the time to listen?

This is truly a thought-provoking work of poetry. Indeed; "LISTEN".

Thank you ever so much for the time spent to enter my challenge with this clever writ. I wish you all the very best.

    Much Love ♥
