Sittin’ in the sun on a warm afternoon
Sippin’ on a gin and tonic
I hear in my head an old Buffett tune
Hmmmm it’s stereophonic
I’m just takin’ it easy, takin’ it slow
Ain’t in no hurry, got no where to go
Watchin’ the kids as they play in the yard
You know they grow so fast now
Remembering how we played so hard
But that’s all in the past now
I’m just takin’ it easy, taking it slow
Ain’t in no hurry, got no where to go
The only thing I miss is my sweet wife
Known her since I was seven
But I know when she’s finished her life
She’ll join me here in heaven
Till then I’m takin’it easy, takin’my time
Ain’t in no hurry, Could sure use a lime

Nothing better than a Buffet tune for takin' it easy. I like this a lot and agree that it would be a fine thing set to music. (if it isn't already) "Stars Shine On Alabama" is my favorite song by Jimmy...of course I like the tropical sounds too. Thanks for this entry.

If these are truly lyrics, it would be interesting to hear them set to music. I am sure it would be quite an interesting song. Your rhyme scheme of ababcc is nice.
