Came gifts in rainbow, waves of
Ribbons woven in amongst knots;
Over-handed relationships, braided,
Chained words “Grandson, Granddaughter,
Here is your grandmother’s heart!”
Every child held warm, bundled,
Tucked in arms that left too early
In life to know you by arms.
Now, folded and placed between tissue paper, ~
Gifts that tie you to that woman with yarn
Around fingers, gnarled with need to know
In some future years, progeny is insured of her love,
Right to new pink skin of your own babies.
Author notes
Before my mother died, she spent months crocheting air because she had alzheimers.... I know she was making more baby gifts.
Oh was afraid to add "blanket" Acrostic. sorry, very confused here.

What a beautiful write. I'll bet she crocheted a lot of love into those air blankets. Good luck in the contest. Take care and Have fun. Steve

Oh this is so beautiful! I am sure she was doing exactly that. Such an unfair and cruel condition at steals our loved ones away beofre their time. Great write. Good luck. Jeannie

Thank you for your contest submission. What a wonderful, touching dedication. I do believe this is a blanket, is it not? Well done acrostic, but would like to ask you to edit your notes accordingly for the rules, thanks! Best of luck in this and all of your endeavors.
