Tinted View of an Enlightened World

All our lives some of us search,
In the darkest of times,
Some of us learn,
Yet some of choose to ignore help,
Shaded from the heat of problems,
By the hope of money without education,

This tinted view shows only pure dark,
You must leave the dark alone to fight it’s self,

Join with the light in our enlightened world
Long since are the days when hope was a myth,
Long live the times of possibility, opportunity and prosperity,

When growing up we learn so fast,
Trust Is A Weakness……
We learn to accept,
We learn to move on,
We learn a greater understanding,
Understanding not only of ourselves,
Also of the vastly changing world we inherit from our fathers,
We never learn to answer all our questions,
And yet it’s odd how we don’t wish to answer some of the very questions we ask,

Does this make us content?
Does love really conquer all?
How?
Why?
Could I if I tried?

We are the carers of creation,
The breeders of generations,

The sharers of inventions,
The bringers of sensations,

The purest of resistance,
The bane of all existence,

The bringers and takers of life,

Why do we have such power?
Why should we take away that which we have no right to take?
Why should we make decisions, no one should never have to make?

How do we belong?
In poems, life and songs,
Do we have control?
Of the things which make us whole,

Or are we deprived of life,
To teach us?
To save us from a down fall,
To lift us to the highest heights,
To bring sun shine to the darkest nights,

Surely there’s a purpose,
Unique to every “soul “
Unique as love,
Unique as self,
Unique as thought,
Unique as feeling we feel,

Life in a word is UNIQUE,
Different to every person,

Yet in every way as great
As any life before ours,

When to begin and when to end,
When to begin and when to end,

Never to give in,
And
Never change,

When to begin and when to end,
When to begin and when to end,

This is not over,
It’s just the beginning,
THE BEGINNING
Of thought.....

Please tell me what you think

A didactic piece a philosophical query read while well awake

The poem might better be called "Tainted View of an Enlightened World," for he gently rebukes those who would

    "choose to ignore help,
Shaded from the heat of problems,
By the hope of money without education"

At the end of line nine,"it’s self" needs no apostrophe or it could read "it is self."

Between 13 and 15 there seems to be a disconnection. Why is trust a weakness? The author doesn't provide an explanation.

Lines 22 through 42 are a list of questions or queries on life.

In 46 & 47 the author assures the reader there is purpose to one's existence.

Perhaps the best part, or rather the best finish to the poem is the promise of more vital truth to emerge, as he writes:

    "This is not over,
    It’s just the beginning,
    THE BEGINNING
    Of thought....."

I can only add that one may hope Tom Chettoe continues to develop his poetry and also write some essays as he advances in his pursuit of philosophy.
