Tribal Dance

Sidle up to the alter
Flames blaze; the coronation has begun
Beneath the rusty harvest moon
free yourself form this world's grasp
Palms to the sky, now
Accept the life the Goddess has created,
realize there is no sin in flesh for
the body was made for great things
Dance, sway, internalize the beat, the life
aware all existance moves as one
to the rythm of one drum
Into the night, under cover of dusk
light dresses flutter with each breath of wind
Men in leather, all give thanks to the setting of the sun,
sacredness of night, the breaking dawn
Melting candles bleed wax
yet, as sure as the day will come, this night will end
life will never be the same
As surrounded as you feel, you are utterly alone
At that alter, you make a choice;
turn away from the past, to accept the future
or turn away from the present, to accept numbness, nothing
He was never good enough for you, now he's marked your life
FOREVER
Any standard God should not give gifts to those who don't need
or can't handle them
Still, the eternal dance continues on
You can't look at food without puking
and a razor shows more sympathy than
your lover, your damning mother
And so you step up to that alter wearing courage, for coronation
The Devil's been waiting with all others whose lives they've failed
We are many

Very interesting write, yes there are many and so, many tears fall. In some ways life can become a tribal dance as one dances to the tune of many until one comes to the realization that hope is just one step away. God Bless.

This is a cool poem, i hope you don't take offence from this, but it kind of sounds like ur a suicidal witch (in a good way)

No worries, I don't take offense from it. I was listening to an odd song that sounded like some type of tribal pagan music, though I'm definately not suicidal (though I was a stupid kid). And really, I have almost nothing against any religions, but I'm athiest, I just like learning about beliefs so I don't offend others by being ignorant, you know, the whole poking fun/mean-ness at something just cause you don't understand it kind of thing
