Watch closely.
Her hands move across the canvas,
And paints her mind.
So chaotic.
Yet, so orderly.
Like magic, a picture is created
Right before your eyes.
The calm, blue sky reminds you
Of many things.
Your brain is flooded
With childhood.
You can hear your laughter.
You see your mother.
You're outside, and the wind
Is blowing through your hair.
It dances.
As does the laundry your mother
Is hanging to dry.
You can feel the grass under your toes.
So soft,
And it tickles.
And she keeps painting.
Her every thought is put on the canvas.
And you relate.
For it is you.

Lovely
Lovely piece. It shows the imagery of spending time with someone close and sharing that time through art. It has an inconsistant flow to it but the emotional pull given to the poem makes up for it. I can see this image in my head of a mother and daughter sitting together taking turns painting one another. Art brings families together. It gives them more to talk about. So if schools were to deplete art classes. There would never be anything interesting to talk about. Great piece again. Luck for the contest.
Thank you for sharing.

Often the best works of art (or poetic pieces) are done on impulse, or at least started in a moment of impulse.
I loved your tone in this one and how you kept the tense in the present but yet everything was introspective, deep and often referring to the memories of the past.
Arts can be so healing and powerful because they take you back to memories of the past and help us heal those areas.
I loved how you showed that she was painting her mind, showing it's healing for her as well as the onlooker.
Thanks for entering this lovely piece, and best of luck in my contest. -
very nice, you painted a sene of life with your words, i felt as if i were there in that moment feeling all those things, great job. keep it up!
