You didn't know me then
I was neither foe nor friend
But you helped me anyway
Gave me comfort
Now I pray
That I won't see you again
My red cross, my hope, Godsend
For although you are my friend
I wish this injury would end

You make a very clear strong point. While we appreciate those that help in times of need, no one really wants to find themselves in need.
Best of luck in the contest, thanks for sharing it with us. -
It's always nice to have a stranger help us, but it'd always be nicer not to need the help. Thanks for your short, but wonderful poem and for entering it into our contest.

Very precise and well written!
You use vew words to convey deep feelings.
Less is more. Line 6 maybe should read
"That I dont need you again." -
your words are fast becoming my drug of choice!!!!!
injuries do indeed come to us in so many ways & even in so many ways silent, that we may not sometimes so openly conveyed as you have here. and that is what is so beautiful about this, that for me, i can view your poetry the same as i might mine, in that writing our thoughts, our soul, ...our poetry....
we discover more than ourselves, but the healing processes that poetry can bring to not only just merely us... but to many who would read and share the thoughts we may have not only had for ourselves in mind when we wrote, spilled our words onto paper or screen or where ever the pen in our minds may strike.
your prose here is nothing short of candy for me once again. this is a gift to any reader!!!!
love ya Steph

A nice write here. We are blest to have their help, but of course we would rather be blest not to need it. Thank you for entering the contest. Best to you. :fSam

This is a beautiful poem, the flow is fantastic and held my attention quite nicely.
But… although this poem is very good it does not qualify for this contest, as the contest states:
“This contest is open ONLY to NEW MEMBERS of AllPoetry that joined in the month of MARCH. If you joined February 28th, you are still eligible to enter as long as you DID NOT enter into the February New Members contest.”
And you became a member on FEBUARY 27th
I’d like to take this opportunity though to welcome you to the sight, if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact any greeter or simply click on the help tab at the top of the screen.

Thank you for your entry
The words you have penned here show your appreciation for the good work these people do. A good title for this particular poem, especially as these are the colours we see on the ambulance carriers
Thank you for entering, this particular contest is for those who joined in march.
Keep writing poet!
Welcome to allpoetry

Thanks for entering
This is an interesting poem you have written. Unfortunately you joined AP on 27 February 2007 and therefore you do not qualify for this contest as stiputlated in the contest rules.
Let the ink flow and your fingers dance

You have said so much in so few lines, leaving the reader to ponder the deeper meaning in this. So eloquently written. I hope your future begins to look brighter soon

Well done and good luck in the contest.

Thanks - I appreciate you reading and commenting. I am also a trekkie by the way and also my favourite film is The Sound of Music. I went to one of those cinema shows where you get to sing along. Everyone dresses up - I was Liesel. Anyway I digress. I really do appreciate your kind words. Thanks!

Thanks for your entry
Yes it is a conflict you have made a friend through adversity but you pray you never meet them again for if you do it will be because of some tragedy. Thanks for your entry.
Good luck in the contest and welcome to allpoetry. I encourage you to keep writing to read and comment.
God Bless
Tammy
