Seven shades of ocean blue
That separate my heart from you

As simple as the rain that falls
And eager as the west wind calls

I try to keep the clouds away
with memories of spring and May

When all the world in merry dance
Distracts you from your distant past

I took your hand, we watched the starry view
Tides of the skys, fade from black to mystic blue

Philosophy of our hearts creating our perfect alibi

Procrastinating, sitting waiting wondering
Lost, hidden, imperfect, longing, pondering 

Those lazy dreamer days in the sun
When now we're old, we wished we were young

Cast your mind back all those years
When in our youth we had no fears

Play those songs we used to play
And in your heart the memories stay

With every passing cloud and every ray of light
I'm taken back to that beautiful summers night

Now I've sat and wondered for far to long
And all those times have come and gone

I've seen you laugh and cry and smile
I've held you in my arms all the while

Feeling an explosion of colour within
My canvas spells out sinners win

But now the painting long hanging, falls
Echoing in memories halls

I walk the path between fear and dread
Drenched in life's purest red

And when I stop and walk no longer
Your absence makes my heart grow fonder

For here I stop and lay to rest
The ghosts my heart came here to test
