"What were you thinking, son?"
asked the stiff, incredulous cop
down at the precinct.
I looked back at him, eyes cool,
pausing to appraise him:
ignorant zombie philistine
in a blue uniform, gun holstered
(for now).
"Neighborhood needed some art, man.
It's my vehicular homage to Dali."

Ok, who's playin the bongos while the beatniks out driving, then deciding to redecorate the neighborhood. Love the "ignorant zombie philistine", that makes the whole write.
Thanks for entering into the contest.
Be well and be blessed,

Mouser

LMAO
I'm s'prised ya even REMEMBERED...
I love Dali's work, too...I have several poems with "The Persistence of Memory" posted on them; another one I've used is "Person at the Window"...& the one of elephants looking into the water & seeing swans...Whoaaa...Hmmm...My late sweetheart told me about an episode in college where the engineering students dismantled a jerk professor's MG & planted it in a tree..."Strange Fruit", indeed...The next semester, it was found in someone's dorm room...
Grand penning, Poet...Sorry, nothin' to critique here...
