Chemistry

Copper plus sulphur was an equation for confusion
positive or negative energy made no difference
(both for me gave off a funky vibe…)
If it came to bonding with ions,
I ate my lunch alone.

It took a boy
with a silly sparkle to his smile
who said my eyes were like
the deepest ocean
for me to really understand chemistry.

Your poem is not completely upbeat due to what seems to be ranting of not understanding or liking chemistry, however I am not DQing you because I like this poem, and I have yet to DQ anyone. I particularly liked your third line. "both for me gave off a funky vibe." I also liked that you secluded them in parentheses.
