Don't forget the cross is waiting there
where Jesus died with open arms
to welcome us to himself
and hide us in his bleeding side-
he loved the little children,
he cast out the demons,
he healed the diseased,
he carried my Elisabeth in his arms
as he carries me
sometimes, a lamb who wanders far,
I find myself lost and alone,
but he will give me his light burden
and carry the weight of my sin
my sorrow, my sadness
my Elisabeth
We do not sit and wait to die,
the best days of life have yet to pass by!
Heaven has yet to come,
and we have yet to see the Son.

At last, a poem that mentions his wife being looked after by Jesus. Can't say I agree with the sentiment or content but at least you are trying to help the poor old guy.

Elisabeth had this uncanny knack of knowing when I was feeling tired or jaded. Without a single yawn from me she would ask me if I was tired or jaded. Our grandaughter Michelle is a barber shop worker but now they have called it a saloon which makes no sense to me. Dallas was a very popular programme I seem to remember but it isn't the length of the pole but the flag it is flying that counts.
