Under the Dreaming Tree
moments ripe above
like plums
(or apples)
Golden roots dug deep
hold family dreams tight
into the soul of
Mother Nature
Children of the sun
Children of Eden
conceived in prayer
and dedicated to the proposition
that all generations
are created equal
This place is paradise
with background voices chanting in the wind
Faggot
Atheist
You're---
---
fat
You don't sleep
but you dream
under the apple tree
Atmosphere is choking
with the humidity of
inferiority complexs
brought on by
civil war against
individualism
and
creativity
Under the Dreaming Tree
Generations torn
apart
Hate
burns the tree down
Golden roots smolder
like the leaves of tomorrow
Leaves once green
full of promise
drifts away in cinder
and children waste the best years
of their lives
Two score
and three years ago
under the burning Dreaming Tree
Generations bought and sold
in pornographic dreams
and loss of childish thoughts
Harvard says
you're a failure
(Slipping into
oblivion)
We can use a hero
to set the fire out
Generation come and gone
brings tears
to the Heavens
Author notes
My generation? Heavy allusions to the American Civil War.
Also alludes to the Tree of Life in the Genesis.

Like the way you wove your old name and new name into this LONG penning. Man you are great but sometimes I go to sleep reading your pennings...lol. Just kidding...you are great, I do like your short ones better simply because I am a fan of short poetry, no other reason really...I liked these lines the best

Best of luck
