The Poet’s Soul
Every poem yet unwritten
Is there for us to find.
Scattered in forever’s ocean
Sewn into the seam’s of time.
When we’re searching for life’s reason
Or lamenting things we can’t control
Like soothing dreams or whispering sorrows
They brush against the poet’s soul.
Any one of us could stumble
Across the poem, waiting there
But, we must pause to gather it
And write it down somewhere.

Inhale – (Inspired by Breathe… by Lurie)
Inhale my essence,
on gasps of fire.
I’ll breathe your dreams;
…exhale desire.
Lay me down,
on perfumed ground.
Caress me till
fulfillment’s found.
Gaze at me,
With star filled eyes.
Leave not one flame,
in envious skies.
Shower me,
in love’s sweet dew.
and keep this heart,
…that beats for you.

Autumn Leaves
Down the lightly littered path,
on lacy leaves I trod,
thru sunshine dappled pools of shade;
I’m nearer here to God.
Amber drifts across the green,
rose across the gold,
red mingles in the dance with glee,
as umber breaks the branches hold.
It is a woodland fantasy,
my heaven here on earth;
as autumns joyous dying breath,
gives way to winters birth.
