Here they are I’ve written them down;
underlined in bold.
I’ve heard them all from men I’ve known;
the greatest lies they’ve ever told.
The first one that was easy;
“I’m not like other men!”
For you to treat me like I am,
Would surely be a sin.
Trust me when I say it,
“I’d never hurt someone like you.”
And women can’t help but, believe;
But, that’s lie number two!
The third is one that’s often used
Quite late in the eve. It’s,
“I just want to hold you.”
Do they think we’re that naive?
The forth is that “I’m falling!”
Or worse it’s, “I love you!”
They say it with sincerity,
They may believe it’s true.
The fifth comes after loving.
It almost makes me sad….
For all the times I’ve heard it.
“You’re the best I’ve ever had!”
But the one that hurts the most;
The words are seldom varied….
Is, “I’m telling you the truth;
Darlin – I’m not married!”

Can't stop laughing.....
...Except for the second last stanza they are the greatest truth a man tells the one he loves.Let women think what they may.
Now don't expect men to be so dumb to say
Quote you:-
“You’re the best I’ve ever had!”
Lol
No man will tell you, you are the best if he really loves you.
So out of the six truths only one is a lie.
Men are good souls:-

These are all lies I've hard from actual men. I'll admit not all men are bad, but when they want you many of them are willing to say anything.
As for “You’re the best I’ve ever had!” statement. I've heard that one from almost every one of the, few guys I've been with. I just assumed it was a stock response that every guy used.

This is an excellent poem. I realize you posted this a long time ago, but isn't it refreshing that people are still reading it? I wanted to laugh and cry all at once. All these things I've heard or experienced. Why do men have to assume we are stupid?
OK, so I'm not bashing all men, becuase somewhere there are decent ones... or is that a lie we tell ourselves?
