Why?
A man who had done no wrong
Was given a fate set upon
No one who had done right
And bore it upon himself
Because of you
When he waited on his knees
For death to coming running,
And when crimson blood sweated scars
Down his heavenly face,
He let it come for you
When he cried out in anguish and pain
For entropy knew it was the beginning of the end
And he had all the power in the world to stop it
He did not for you.
He let go of all opportunities he held.
He forfeited his soul.
He gave the ultimate sacrifice.
Why?
He knew if he didn't, he would never have you by his side.
He knew if he didn't, you would be lost for eternity.
He made a self-sacrifice that saved you from the clutches of death.
Because of his undying love for you.
That's why.
Author notes
He died so that you could have life, and that's why we are here. Without him, we would be as good as dead and there would be no point to anything.
A way to make this poem more effective is to replace "you" in the poem with your own name each time it appears. This makes it more realistic and has a bigger impact.

There was a time not long ago I was right there with you. Even wrote something called Could You. I think my reason behind this contest is based on what I used to believe.
