You never would have done it in the first place,
Have these last eight months not meant anything to you?
When you said "I love you" was it just a lie?
You tell me you'd know what you would if you were me,
If someone had just cheated on you the way you did,
If you knew then why did you do it?
How could you put me through this?
You try to tell me that you're a male,
I should come to expect that,
A guy needs that in a relationship,
"I was drinking" is what you say.
If you can go away to bootcamp and I can stay faithful,
Then why can't you stay faithful when you're home,
Why do you have to come up with excuses?
Why can't you just except the fact that you screwed up?
You try to say that you had doubts about me,
When you were the one who wasn't man enough to talk to me,
Instead you get drunk and cheat on me,
And try to say your sorry when it's a little too late.
Because if you were really sorry,
You never would have done it in the first place,
You would have thought of me and these last eight months,
And you would have just walked away,
But instead you got drunk and cheated on me.
All I know is that she better have been worth it.

So this is about my ex-boyfriend that cheated on me with some girl he's known for like three years. He tried to tell me he was sorry, and that maybe we could still be friends. He tried to tell me the excuse that he's male, and that he was having doubts about me. He went to bootcamp for like five months for the marines and I had no problem staying faithful, but he couldn't even though he was home.
