You've got your hand around my heart
gripping it tight, so i can't go to far
i ask myself why when the road gets rough
but i gotta stay strong, i was tought to be tough
you used to bring me to life
now there's nothing left inside to bring alive
"I've never been anywhere as cold as you"
My heart was shattered trying to get through to you
Sometimes love slips away and you can't get it back
Sewing the seams of a broken past
I don't want o spend my life waiting,
dying to drown this pain
I would shed tears to the sound of your name
Im tired of faking a smile so people won't see
what we really are, not what we're supposed to be
You would walk by and i couldn't breathe
I don't know how to deal without you next to me
BUt now im over your heart-breaking lies
Im over your hazel eyes
Im over your games, and you not caring if im okay
"it hurt at first a little bit" but now im over it
"As far as im concerned...Your Just Another Picture To BURN."
Please tell me what you think

i enjoyed this. the memories, and sadness you have brought forth. a great write indeed! love sometimes does not last forever, and that is something we must learn. its a tough thing really, and you have displayed that well in this piece!

I agree about the whoel Taylor Swift point...but, if you did or didn't...no matter....it differs just enough to make it yours. Very emotioanl.....and I love the title....fits very nicely!

I like the poem alot it makes you realize that love is not a gift that you get to keep forever, but on a down side this is VERY similar to the Taylor Swift song "picture to burn" i don't know if the song inspired you or what, but they are ALMOST too close in resemblance. especially the line "i've never been anywhere as cold as you" it's a replica of a part in that song....the poem is perfection but it lacks originality. you did a very good job though.

This is a poewerful poem I liked it alot.. I can relate to this somewhat.. I have burned pictures in the past of old memories and so forth but burning them seems to never keep them away cuz you never forget.. But great poem...

WOW
Powerful write here hon. I can relate to this soo much.. in my past and present relationships. I am married now.. and my husband has started to become an unwilling participant in our marriage. Love does suck.. and no matter what.. there will be hard times. and good times... Roll with them.. they lead to better things. Trust me
Thanks for the great read. This was truly a great poem hon.

Hmm,
memories are a potent force that can attack from all sides, at all times.
Throughout our lives it seems we do litte but accrue new hurt, and in the words of Brett Easton Ellis' Sean Bateman we simply have to 'deal with it, rock and roll'.
But things are not quite so simple, and indeed, sometimes recollections of mistakes I've made (or other things I've come to blame myself for) are so severe I almost back out and have to pound the side of my skull, or vigorously shake my head and even body.
This write kind of reminds me of stuff like this, but all you can ever do at times like this is remember that
"Sometimes love slips away and you can't get it back"
A powerful reminder that many things throughout our existences are so precarious, so fleeting, that once tey pass, they will never return.
Incidentally, you know when you are exposed to a noise so loud it causes a ringing in your ears?
Apparently that is the sound of that particulat frequency dying, and once the ringing fades, you will never hear in that frequency again.

I really love the title. It's very strong and makes a reader want to read it.
Favorite lines:
'now there's nothing left inside to bring alive'
'sewing the seams of a broken past' -VERY powerful
imagery!
'Im tired of faking a smile so people wouldn't see'
I think your imagery is amazing throughout the poem. I love the concept of this poem as I'm sure that most of us has been in that situation one time or another.
Good job
