Are these few moments our last
Will we be forced to live
Our very separate lives
As if we never knew
This love had ever been
Dimmed by light and passing time
Will we see each other
On the road of life
And if we do will we know
That once this love was oh so strong
It choked within its hold
Is our song played
Have we forgotten the notes
Our instruments dry and old
Each string hanging limp by the bone
Will we be split apart
By oceans drifting tides
Broken down piece from piece
To hear our mournful cries
About a love we knew long ago
And how we could have tried
To live this separate life together
To lightly drift into a dream
Or will we live this life together
And would never have to wonder
What would happen if it died…

I so enjoyed reading your poem. It brought many thoughts to mind. We never know where or when love will end. If we are lucky, it will last forever.
