Dancing away my sanity

Whore, Slut .All those generalizations.
They may never say it but they think it.
Exotic dancer, stripper, entertainer.
Call me what you will , just don't look down on me.
You can say what you want, and i just sit there and smile.
I am tired of your stares when I walk down the street.
I am tired of the whispers that you think I can't hear.
A person, a woman, someone with feelings.
Don't you understand, can't you see the real me
Behind the makeup and the sleaze.
You watch me talk but you do not listen
All you can do when i sit down is think
Whore, Slut, all those generalizations.

aaah what do you work as?
and when I meant name in the authors box, I meant yours, hehe.

I liked this poem though, it's a common thing that we're all sick of, people just talking about us and judging us without them really knowing us. Even though it occurs a lot of the time it's not something that we should actually have to deal with.

I liked this poem but however I felt it was to, erm let me rephrase it, I felt it lacked a kind of poetry flow, it was more 'then this happened, then that happened', if you understand that.
It's not all the poem by the way, just this part

'Don't you understand, can't you see the real me
Behind the makeup and the sleaze.'

But I do like this one, it is something that everyone can actually really relate to
hope you're feeling a bit better today.
