"You're allowed to lie," he said,
"allowed to tamper with the truth."
"That you lived in a castle in your youth," he said,
"need not be truly autobiographical."
"So much has happened since," he said,
"the things you’ve done,the books you’ve read;
they all must have an influence
though some are hypothetical."
"So, write your poems", he finally said,
"reflect those periods, tho' some may be unethical,
and pray, one day you'll see them set
in collections typographical."

Very nice piece, the thoughts amused me greatly for isn't that the truth of a writer, penning from imagination most often and not from fact. Thank you for this fine entry.
