She fills my days.
She lights my nights.
“My door is open, come inside.”
Why is it I fear to accept?
Ramrod straight, prim and proper,
work and prosper but love is amiss.
“Hold me, I need you close.”
Why is it I fear to approach?
Her eyes plead with sorrow,
Her lips quiver with anticipation.
“Hold me tight, kiss me slow.”
Why is it I fear to embrace?
Two people alone, striving not to be
but always will be, alone.
“Lead me to the place we once did know.”
What is it I fear?
