Forests of Memories

I walk through suffocating darkness,

along paths lined by scorched boughs,

and reminisce about past times.

On the search for higher meaning,

in this indifferent world,

I try to escape this blackened place,

and muster dwindling faith.

Walking through a burning city,

under cinder colored clouds.

I wonder if true love exists,

in a city woven from hate.

Tears of rain fall around me,

as I vainly scream into the night.

My voice drowned by torrents,

every drop some person's sorrow.

Millions of voices deaden my one.

Forests of twisted memories,

hold the wanderers of night.

Until we find our way out,

lest roam until eternity ends.

Find where the sun still glows,

and rain never falls,

where night can't last forever.

    Problem

To begin with, the font was slight small which in turn, left me to the task of having to zoom in the screen just to read,

Next, a few of your lines can use minor touch-ups.

'On the search for higher meaning,
    in this indifferent world.
I try to escape this blackened place,
    and muster dwindling faith.'

    Suggestive changeL

'On the search for higher meaning,
    in this indifferent world,
I try to escape this blackened place,
    and muster dwindling faith.'

Just by simply removing the period and, adding the comma does the flow continue without the 'gas-n-brake' effect. Keep peening

i love the imagery, it just seems so real.

i just thought i'd tell you that i like your writing style a lot, and this poem is just fabulous. i love the imagery and the emotion in it.
    i especially liked the line
    "every drop some person's sorrow"
i sometimes think of the rain that way too.

I love the imagery in this write. How easy it is to slide into the flow of this poem. The first stanza is my favorite:

    I walk through suffocating darkness,
    and reminisce about past times.
On the search for higher meaning,
    in this indifferent world.

I don't know the song in question, but the poem speaks for itself. It is more than worthy to stand alone.

Wonderful write, and the best of luck in the contest
