Everything is black and white
There is no color
All my reds and yellows
have ceased existing
Squinting my eyes
trying to find some brightness
There is no light of day
only the darkness of the past
Disconnecting from my now
Reconnecting to my then
Seeking the thief that stole
my kaleidoscope of color

I'm crying now ....
When I lst my daughter at 5 months pregnant due to her fathers violence this is exactly how I felt. Like someone had stolen the sunshine, the rainbows and every other thing that should have brought me joy. My life was one long path of darkness. You have an overwhelmingly powerful piece of poetry. I love that last stanza. Reminds me so much of myself. But thankfully someone has adjusted the brightness and its almost back to how it should be, just a bit more tweaking. I commend you my friend. Your talent blows me away. xxxx Claire

very nice.
Reminded me of the old movie, as all were in black and white for a spell. Or maybe even a fall day, can be dreary black and shadow of grey. Nice write. ;f
