This Poem

This Poem…

This poem is such a song;
To be sung with all youth and vigor.
Its tune, a war cry among Zulu in KwaZulu Natal
Its tempo like a bomb in the heart of Sierra Leone
Its beat, pure machine-guns in the streets of Congo Kinshasa.
This poem is such a song!

This poem is our Crude Right;
That can’t be silenced in silence
As our heads grey with sooth of bitterness,
And ulcers in our tummies multiply like fungus
Whilst ours are plates cob webbing
Without our share of the National Cake.
This poem is our Crude Right!

This poem is my own people;
On placards, carrying numerous dreams deferred.
With filthy rags covering their essentials,
Long drawn faces,
Bare buttocks,
Swollen legs,
Boiling hearts…
Standing before armed Wild Cats.
This poem is my own people!

This poem is river Nile of Egypt;
Enough waters shall we carry.
And cool our anger and anguish.
And irrigate our seeds of hope
Then raise flags of freedom of EXPRESSION;
This poem is river Nile of Egypt!

    This makes my eyes burn with tears and shame for the greed of humanity that does not care, Nyasha. Your voice is strong, but the road is so long.

    I love you!

      dear poet and friend, poets are there to explode. Down here we have unheard sorrowful narratives. I believe through this art, the world will get to know our real situation. Believe you me, THIS POEM IS THE RIVER NILE OF EGYPT: It is just the source where my people will milk inspiration for a revolution. I too believe in peaceful revolutions, maybe my people will take my words. Thank u. Wherever u are be blessed and have a great day Poet!

    I Understand the pain

    I will always feel this same pain, all colors are the shame , all grieve for rights; for rights forgotten. We are one with others shame.

    Nyasha, this is a truly amazing poem and one I know you have written from your heart about the injustice in your lands, the oppression, the hunger, the right to free speech, all these things I know you feel and you have expressed them beautifully in this writtenpiece of work.
    Thank you for sharing your heart and your thoughts with us.

    This poem....is passion and vision and wisdom in view of what is missing as birthright. It should be sung in every barren place till the waters bring forth the fruit of the tree and their inhabitants sing in bounty and freedom.

    I wish with all my being that such flags are not raised in vain, that eyes would not look away and hands remain stedfast in service.

    Brilliant poetry, Sweet Bro!

      Sissy Karen, what more can words say? U know what sissy,sometimes when i sit down to write some of my poems, i do cry. I am touched by the pain and suffering we are going through. It is tough for us sometimes. What more for those who can even express it, lol, they die with heavy hearts.

    Powerful

    An incredible poem worthy of applause!
    The way you show the reader the culture and about the problems that they face. The emotion behind your words allows readers to see you the poet, and learn how strong your heart is.

    Your poetry has grown with much depth. It is nice to see a poem with such strong cultural relevance, this is what makes your poetry stand out the most.

    My friend, you are an extraordinary poem and I feel ashamed that I do not come to your page everyday, I am going to change that.

    P.S. My Instant messenger is messed up but I am working on getting it fixed. You can email until it is back up if you want.

    Thanks for posting this,
    Katina

    AWESOME!

    Oh, wow, darling brother Nyasha! This is an incredibly good poem reflecting the travesties in your nation of Africa; those we hear so much about here in the USA. I would so like to share this with our TSaS brothers and sisters; so, would you mind emailing a copy of it for this week's Sabbath broadcast?

    Much love and hugs, SisB♥n
