Thank you for holding me before my fall
You remember when I tried to crawl
Lifting me with immense joy as I learn
Engulfing me in your warm hug of concern
Guarding me safe in your hands of care...
Soon I made it to my nappies and scarfs
I dirtied your floors and made you scoff
Chores were all that you were left to do
Still you managed to let me sleep through
In your lap of love and hands of care...
Just as I made it to the kindergarten
To nursery and school to write and learn
As I was young enough to hold my light
So not much to be away from your wet sight
Holding my all ways in your hands of care...
I grow to be young as all a man today
Tho' my tears would'nt be wiped away
Still I long for you Oh! giver of birth
The way you would wade me from pain and hurt
Please do hold me always in your hands of care...
