I once thought I had a soul mate
Our thoughts of futures clashed
I could no longer bear be with him
And my twin soul I did find.
My soul mate knew me well
Though my twin soul knew better
My soul mate found much difference in me
Where my twin soul found me the same.
My twin soul is my deepest friend
He knows no bounds in love
Even in a little tiff
That cannot make us part.
My twin soul know my life
Much like he knows his own
He learned me quicker than any other
And found our lives were mirrored.
Sometimes we have a soul mate
Who knows us well enough
And sometimes we find our twin soul
Who knows us better than that.

I really love this poem...it is like a perfect fit for the situation I am in, and the way I've been feeling. I also really like the way you describe this person as your "twin soul". Many in this contest have made me realize there can be a difference between a romantic love, "soul mate", and the friends we meet and make who know us inside out ~ a "twin soul". Thank you so much for your lovely and thought provoking poem and good luck in the contest. I wish you all the best in finding a "soul mate" of the romantic kind as well, if you haven't already found one.

Best wishes,
~J. -
