Let's encourage her individuality and
then hang her with it. She looks
like she knows that story well.
Promise her the world and beat her with it.

There isn't much I can suggest you change, because frankly, it is brilliant. You have too many r's in berate though.

I actually read this earlier, but didn't comment as it was a work in progress. I really like this, I am not sure who you are talking about exactly but what came to mind was Brittany Spears. Our world is so bizarre isn't it, great write in my humble opinion!
