I had a dream I drowned
It wasn’t bad
I didn’t die
Not exactly.
So
It wasn’t really a pleasant dream
But not a bad one
There’s something special about drowning
I think….
I think it’s the only way
To fully feel something.
Water is everywhere
Next to you,
Controlling you
A tiny wave;
a breath of wind
moving you.
Drowning does something to you
Besides killing.
Floating there,
It touches your face
Against your eyes
Harder than air
Moving more than air
Probing eyes, pushing
Against everything.
It is,
Maybe,
The most close
You can ever be
To any one thing.
It fills you
Trying to breath
Only draws the pressure closer
Up to the face
Behind the eyes.
Yes.
It all goes behind the eyes
As you struggle against it
It’s a lot like
When you can’t cry
Your eyes build up
The throat closes
And becomes heavy
Yes.
Drowning is like
Being unable to cry.
