metamorphosis

as the ashes begin to smoulder
and you lean against my shoulder
i find myself changing
and the emotions rearranging
ive finally learned to be your friend
and the heartbreak slowly starts to mend
with my mind so clouded and my body so sure
i never knew that you in fact were the cure
this love is different this love is kind
how could i have ever been so blind
id rather have you as my friend
than have our relationship end

ive achieved what i set out to do
ive finally gotten over you
ive changed
ive learned

a metamorphosis complete

      yes it is reflective

yes, this is very much so reflective...i fell for a friend who fell for one of my other friends...and i finally got over him and we had a good friendship...but now something has gone awry, and i havent even seen him in 3 months...im very sad about it, but i have learned that some enter your life for a reason and some for a season...some forever. He must have been a reason or season...

Beautiful, it really is. It's good that one can get over another and still be their friend...though sometimes it doesn't always happen. It's good that you can write something like this. The rhyme int he first 2 lines caught my eye, and now I've read it I see it is fantastic

This is interestingly beautiful. To finally get over someone.. it is such a relief, like a catapillar in a cacoon.. we wait for what seems forever to be released of the imprisonment.. and finally when we are.. we take flight, something completely fresh, alive, beautiful and so relieved to finally fly after such a long wait. Great job!
