More than Love

My darling, standing here with you next to me, hand in hand, fixed upon me with your angelic eyes, I find myself unable to speak.

You have filled my life with happiness and joy that I once thought was lost to me forever.

You have given me more than you know, and standing here, now, in front of our family, friends,and God I must say, that I do not love you nor can I love you.

This feeling I have for you that shows in every beat of my heart just does not fit the context in which love is used. And for that I am sorry.

I am sorry that despite my best efforts, I was unable to replace this common word of love, with one more befitting the feeling I have for you.

For you see my darling when you are with me my soul rises from me and all at once I am free of my troubles, my heart swells to the point that I feel as though my chest will burst forth unless I am able to hold you in my arms, and I feel as though we are one, the moment I look into your eyes.

No my darling. The feeling that I have for you is not love. Love is a word that can not begin to describe how I feel about you. Love is a word that has failed us before, a word that has failed too many.

All I know, is what I feel for you is real. I feel it when you are near me and feel it even more when you are away. And I swear to you now, I will never let this feeling die, that I will do all in my power to keep it alive. That I will make it my mission to you to smile everyday, to show how much you mean to me, till the day that I die, and I promise you, I will never stop fighting for you, i will never let you go again.

No, I do not love you darling, but until I discover that word that encompasses all that you bring to my life, (my heart, my soul, my being), when I think of you. The word love will have to do my radiant beauty, but know in my eyes this word now means the world to me, for you are my world.

    I hate to say this because I really don't like hurting anyone but I think this is a really sweet thing to say to someone. It doesn't seem much as a poem to me..maybe its the way you structured it or something, i don't know..i think this is really sweet and whoever this is dedicated to must have ment a lot to you..thank you for entering though

    It made me cry. I havent seen love like this in a long time i like when you said I am sorry that despite my best efforts, I was unable to replace this common word of love, with one more befitting the feeling I have for you.
